3 Things successful Nonprofit Organizations Do To Create Awareness and Engagement

There are 3 key things that most successful nonprofit organizations do (doing) that help them create awareness and engagement, reach their goals and be successful.

Spoiler alert. They are all story-driven films. We know that story is the shortest distance between people and it touches the heart to move the mind.

1. IMPACT STORIES.

Let's get straight to the heart of it all.

Funding.

Funding is the lifeblood of your organization, it allows you to do the great work that you do.

Impact Stories give donors an intimate look into the impact your work is having and let them see how their donations are making change, moving them to act.

Share the stories of those you serve and how you have helped them to inspire your donors to keep giving and encourage others to do so as well.

2. CULTURE STORIES.

The people are the heartbeat of every organization, whether administrative, in fundraising or on the frontline, fulfilling the mission of your organization.

Now more than ever people are being intentional about where they work and who they work with.

Culture Stories allow them to get a keen insight into how your organization functions and if the relationship is a good fit.

It also work to your benefit in saving time and resources in the recruiting process.

Sharing the stories of your people directly connect with your potential team members. Having the right people makes all the difference in the world and we know that good team members are hard to find.

3. ORIGIN/WHY STORIES.

Last and certainly not least, in fact, this should be the first story you tell.

No one can engage with you unless they know that you exist. So share your Origin Story, your Why Story. What was the genesis of the idea for the organization and what was the journey to its fruition.

Your mission has an audience out there, a tribe. Connect with them in a very personable way at the most basic level...the beginning.

Stories that are people-centric connects with us in a very human way.

Your organization exist to serve others and service to others is fundamentally human.
